Sari or saree is the traditional attire widely worn by the Indian women. In Sanskrit, the word’ sari’ means ‘strip of cloth’. Sari is a strip of unstitched cloth ranging from 4 to 9 meters in length. Sari can be draped over the body in different ways. Sari is considered to be among the oldest form of garment in the world with more than 5000 years of existence.

Lovely, evocative painting of this Indian beauty adorned in a saree. Like the detailing on the blouse. And nice read on the 6 yard saree! Tho' in the olden times, esp in the south, in TN in particular women also wore the 9 yards saree.
