In the Indian epics, Apsaras are celestial beings. They are the dancers in the court of Indra, the lord of the heaven. They possess heavenly beauty; are enchantresses who captivate others by their alluring beauty. They are skilled at many performing arts such as dance and music. Sometimes they are sent to earth by Indra to distract those sages and kings who pose spiritual threat to his throne in the heaven.
Here , the Apsara is playing celestial melody with mandolin , the magical waves of which travelling through the heaven, evoking the trees , plants, flowers and birds of the heaven to dance in ecstatic joy !!
