Description
Summer is marked with fireworks displays all around Japan. These summer fireworks are called Hanabi. "Hana" means flower and "bi" means fire . So 'hanabi' means -"fire flowers", "flower-shaped fire" or a “flower expressed with fire”.
The craftsmen of old Japan were true artists. The makers of fireworks created refined designs by hand with exquisite expertise. In order to make fireworks, the craftsmen first had to master the art of flower arrangement. Creating fireworks also meant arranging flowers. Every single piece included a flower theme.
People wear ‘yukata’ (summer kimono) and gather to watch hanabi at places or see it from their homes while relaxing in the cool tranquil evenings.
Unlike the noise of regular fireworks, the quiet sparklers are fascinating with their fleeting beauty. Sparklers create a strong impression of “transience" in Japan. Once lit, it starts shooting out sparks like pine needles, but as it moves closer to the handle, it gradually goes out. It doesn't go out with a bang like regular fireworks, but slowly fades away until the very last moment, like a dream, a very Japanese kind of elegance.

Such a beautiful painting Tara, with rich and vibrant colors and contrasts. I absolutely loved reading your description and it made me love your art even more. The fire flowers are extremely beautiful, and as I imagine seeing them with no loud bang as you describe, I am left in awe. How wondrous and magnificent an experience this must be to be there!
