Description
In the Indian epics, Apsaras are celestial beings. They are the dancers in the court of Indra, the lord of the heaven. They possess heavenly beauty and are enchantresses who captivate others by their alluring beauty. They are skilled at many performing arts such as dance and music. Sometimes they are sent to earth by Indra to distract those sages and kings who pose spiritual threat to his throne in the heaven.
In this drawing, the Apsara is lost in her thoughts while playing music on a night when the trees in the heavens bloomed. While she was lost in her dreams, the night sky and the stars prepared themselves , got ready and waited to welcome and witness her celestial dance .
