Description
The love between Radha and Lord Krishna is celebrated as the purest form of love as it is the love between the individual soul and the supreme universal soul. When Lord Krishna incarnated 5000 years back, he was present as a cowherd boy in Vrindavan. According to scriptures, Radha is the female energy of Krishna. Krishna created Radha in order to relish pure transcendental love. Radha was a milk maid in Vrindavan.
Radha’s longing for Krishna is viewed as the individual soul’s longing for the supreme soul. It is described that Radha’s body, mind, and words were steeped in love for Krishna ... her body was a veritable transformation of love of Godhead. Her transcendental body was complete with unparalleled spiritual qualities.
However, they were together only for very few years. Radha was separated from Krishna for about more than 100 years due to some curse by Lord Krishna’s friend (that is another story).
Radha’s final moments with Krishna were so intense.
After Krishna leaving Vrindavan, eventually Radha got married and she had a miserable life. She led a tough life. Krishna became the king of Dwaraka. As years passed , Radha became old and weak. She wanted to see Krishna. She walked all the way down to Dwaraka to see Krishna. She managed to enter the palace and finally she saw him and was once again mesmerized by his divine beauty. It seemed that even being separated physically they were always together spiritually and mentally.
Radha joined the service of the palace with the permission of Krishna, as a maid, so that she could at least get a glance of him each day. But soon she realized that the pain of separation from Krishna was increasing each day though being physically near. Hence she decided to leave the palace discreetly. Krishna decided to follow her and was there at the turn when she needed Him the most. With His divine touch, He brought Radha’s consciousness. Radha smiled seeing Krishna when she opened her eyes.
The final moments they shared were so intense and heart touching.
Both of them knew that these were her last moments and so Krishna wanted her to ask something from him. Initially Radha denied, but when Krishna forced, she asked him to play the best flute music for her. Krishna played the flute which was entirely dedicated to Radha. Listening to the divine melody, she merged in Krishna. He then decided to break his flute. Since Radha was fond of His flute, so he decided to completely dedicate it to her and never play it again.
