Description
In the Indian epics, Apsaras are celestial beings. They are the dancers in the court of Indra, the lord of the heaven. Apsaras possess heavenly beauty and are enchantresses who captivate others by their alluring beauty. They are skilled at many performing arts such as dance and music. Sometimes they are sent to earth by Indra to distract those sages and kings who pose spiritual threat to his throne in the heaven.
In this drawing, the Apsara is deep in her celestial dreams. She has adorned herself with fine jewelry.
Is she dreaming of herself wandering through the musical streets of the heaven with her golden musical instrument while enchanting the onlookers?
